Cloud AI platforms are environments run by large providers, through which companies access language models in an enterprise mode. They differ from ordinary chat interfaces in what matters to companies: the region in which data is processed can be specified, different data-handling terms apply including non-use of data for training, the solution connects to existing identities and access rights, and operational guarantees are available. The choice of platform tends to be determined by which cloud the company already operates in, since connecting to other services is easier. Costs are billed according to usage, which grows with intensive use, so make an estimate before deployment based on a real pilot, not on the price-list rate.
