An internal AI ambassador is a person within the company who, after training, helps colleagues actually use the tools. This role arises from practical experience: knowledge from training is retained only when a person has someone to turn to with a specific question about a specific task. The ambassador does not need to be a technician or a manager – it is more important that they are accessible and that colleagues trust them enough not to be embarrassed to ask. Their remit typically includes collecting proven practices and sharing them, helping with first attempts, pointing out limits and rules, and passing requests for new tools on to management. Set aside time for this and recognise the work, otherwise the person will give up the role. In larger companies, one ambassador per department tends to work well.
