Publication of a contract in the Central Register is a statutory condition for contracts subject to mandatory publication, that is, for most contracts financed from public funds, including the agreement on the provision of a non-repayable financial contribution. It is essential that such a contract takes effect only on the day following its publication, not on signature. In practice, this means that actions tied to the contract's effectiveness – including the start of implementation and certain expenditure – cannot be carried out earlier, even if the contract has been signed by both parties. The same obligation often also applies to contracts with suppliers paid for from the project. Check the publication date, therefore, and base your timetable on it, not on the date of signature. Publication is usually ensured by the provider, but monitoring the date is in your interest, since deadlines run from it.
