A company's listings in directories, on maps and in professional lists form a network of places where your basic details – name, address and phone number – are repeated. What matters is not their quantity but their consistency: if the details differ from place to place, for example an old address, a different form of the name, or an outdated number, search engines and language models alike have trouble determining which detail is valid, and the company's credibility falls. A customer who calls an invalid number simply goes to a competitor instead. The procedure is therefore tedious but effective: choose one binding form of the details, list all the places where the company appears, and unify them. Go through the list again every time the registered office or contact changes. Avoid bulk submissions to worthless directories.
