Grants for Social Services

Grants for social services support the provision and development of care for seniors, people with health disadvantages, families in crisis and other vulnerable groups. Financing here is multi-source, and that is its main specific feature: alongside project calls, there is regular operating financing from public budgets, contributions from local governments and payments from recipients of care, while project support is directed mainly at investments and new services. Support typically covers the construction and reconstruction of facilities, the transition from large-capacity facilities to community-based forms, outreach and outpatient services, community centres, material equipment and staff training. Separating the sources in accounting is key, so that the same activity is not financed twice, which is easy to overlook when combining operating and project funds.
