Grants for Waste Management

Grants for waste management support projects aimed at a higher rate of sorting, reuse, and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill. Typical subjects of support are civic amenity sites and their equipment, composting facilities and home composters, bins and collection equipment, sorting and recovery lines, remediation of environmental burdens, and awareness-raising activities. Applicants tend to be mainly municipalities and their associations, but also businesses operating in waste management and manufacturers introducing measures to prevent waste generation. Sources are programmes funded from EU funds and national environmental funds. A common condition tends to be demonstrating a measurable environmental benefit, that is, by how much the sorting rate will increase or the amount of mixed waste will decrease, and the sustainability of operation after the project ends.
