The conversational funnel is a purchasing journey that takes place as a conversation with an assistant instead of browsing dozens of websites. The customer starts with a broad question, gradually adds conditions – budget, location, requirements – and the assistant progressively narrows down the selection. They reach the website only at the last step, when verifying a specific offer or completing an order. There are two consequences. First: the classic awareness and consideration phases take place off your website and you will not see them in analytics, so traffic may fall even though sales do not. Second: succeeding means being correctly described in the sources the assistant draws on, including the limitations and conditions by which the customer filters. Prepare your pages, therefore, to answer questions such as who this is for and, just as clearly, who it is not for.
