Construction supervision in the project

Construction supervision is a qualified person who, on behalf of the recipient, oversees whether the construction is being carried out in accordance with the project documentation, the building permit, the contract with the contractor, and technical standards. In projects financed from EU funds, it has a financial function in addition to the construction one: it confirms the statements of work actually carried out, which form the basis for invoicing and, subsequently, for the payment request. When verifying expenditure, the check compares the invoice with the statement of work, the construction budget and the entries in the construction log – if the work is not confirmed by the supervisor or the data do not match, the expenditure is not recognised. The supervisor also records changes from the original design, which may require an amendment to the contract or the provider's consent. Expenditure on construction supervision tends to be eligible, generally up to a limit set as a percentage of construction costs.
