The project implementation location is the territory in which the activities are actually carried out and where the project's output is created. It is not to be confused with the applicant's registered seat – a company with its seat in Bratislava may implement a project at a premises in eastern Slovakia, and vice versa. It is precisely the implementation location that determines territorial eligibility: each call defines in which regions, districts or region categories the project can be supported, and a project outside this territory is ineligible regardless of quality. The maximum aid intensity, and sometimes also a scoring bonus, for example for the least developed districts, is likewise derived from the implementation location. For projects implemented in multiple locations, expenditure and indicators are divided proportionally by territory. Changing the implementation location during the project is a substantial change requiring the prior consent of the managing authority, otherwise the affected expenditure risks being ineligible.
