Obnov dom is a subsidy programme financed from the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic, which provides owners of older family houses with a contribution towards their comprehensive renovation. The programme is administered by the Slovak Environment Agency (SAŽP). The subsidy usually covers 75 to 80% of eligible expenditure up to a set cap, with the condition being a primary energy saving of at least 30 percent. Eligible measures include insulating the perimeter walls, roof and floor, replacing windows and doors, installing a heat pump, photovoltaic panels, solar collectors, recuperation, or removing asbestos. The applicant must be the owner of a house built before 2013, and the house must serve predominantly for housing. Applications are submitted electronically in individual calls, which are repeated regularly. Reimbursement takes place after the renovation is completed, based on proven expenditure and an energy certificate, though the programme also allows an advance payment of part of the funds beforehand.
