AI Act (EU Regulation)

The AI Act is a European Union regulation governing the development and deployment of artificial intelligence based on the risk level of individual systems—ranging from minimal risk, through high risk, to unacceptable risk, which is completely prohibited. It sets out specific obligations for both providers and users of AI systems in the EU, including requirements for transparency, risk assessment, and human oversight, and its individual provisions will take effect gradually over the course of several years.
